Is your C-Arm experiencing image artifacts?

One of the most common issues C-Arm owners have concerns about is image artifacts. Artifacts in the C-Arm images may include spots, streaks, smudging, and other foreign outcomes that may show up in the field of view. This can be the result of a variety of underlying issues. Some of these issues may be due to physical problems with the hardware. Others may be due to digital issues on your C-Arm’s computer system. Pacific Healthcare Imaging used c arm.

A few of the causes of C-Arm artifacts include:
• Debris.

These are physical artifacts that may appear as a result of dirt being accumulated inside the system from the environment the device is placed in. There may also be debris inside the C-Arm’s image intensifier. If these issues aren’t taken care of, the phosphor lining inside the image intensifier may break down, flake off, and may ultimately need to be replaced.

• Compromisation of the processing chain.

These are digital artifacts that may be caused by a bad connection, disrupted connection, or outright failure. This may result in the image parts of the processing chain to produce digital artifacts such as pixelation.

To cater to these issues, the first step in troubleshooting the problem is to determine the nature of the cause.

If the artifacts seem to be a physical issue, the second step would be to locate the debris and take the necessary steps to cleanse the device.

If the artifacts are a digital issue, on the other hand, consider trying to establish a better connection. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, you may have to contact your service provider to cater to the problem.
